VOLUNTEER

As a member of GHRW, there are many volunteer opportunities.  During election time we help staff Republican Candidate Headquarters, make phone calls, door bell precincts, fundraise, stuff envelopes and are frequently seen waving signs.

We conduct candidate forums to help PierceCounty citizens meet and question those candidates who may serve as their elected officials.

We do voter registration drives, support Initiatives, Referendums and community outreach events. Our club also assists with programs and projects that are a benefit to our community and the people that live in Pierce County.  If you wish to volunteer for any of the following committees, contact us by email: ghrwomen@gmail.com.

Volunteer to Chair the following Committees

Standing Committees:

Bylaws — Bylaws govern the way we do business. Rules are established by Roberts Rules of Order, newly revised and current edition. The bylaws are reviewed annually to determine if revisions are necessary. No bylaw may be contrary to WFRW or NFRW bylaws.

Campaign Activities — Campaign Committee is vital to our club to provide information about Republican candidates at all levels. This includes being the source of information on campaign managers, phone numbers, upcoming events and printed material. We encourage members to run for office or be a source for candidates to call when they need help.

 .

Finance (Ways & Means) Fundraiser— This committee raises funds for campaign activities, special projects and general operating expenses.

Legislative/CAP (Comprehensive Advocacy Program Alert) — This committee keeps members abreast of news and events on the local, state and national levels. The committee also responds to legislative action. The chair may serve as both legislative and CAP chair.

Membership — The Second Vice President chairs membership. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining an up-to-date list of the membership, recruitment of new members, publication of our brochure and membership forms and annual yearbook publication. Additional duties include providing name badges for new members and guests at meetings, organizing an annual membership drive and any other duties as directed by the president. Information on membership is provided to the president, treasurer and newsletter editor.

Programs — The First Vice President chairs programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, planning each meeting’s program, providing speakers and a venue. This committee also develops a calendar of events to be included in the yearbook.

Public Relations — Public Relations (PR) sends news releases to local newspapers and other publications on upcoming meetings and other events. For major events, press releases are sent to print, radio and television media. PR will keep a contact list of all media contacts.

Special Committees:

Achievement Awards — This committee makes sure we qualify for as many WFRW & NFRW awards by performing all the necessary tasks. This includes collecting and tracking volunteer hours.

Americanism — This committee has the responsibility of inspiring respect for the American Flag and our country. Traditionally, a committee member leads the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America at all regular meetings or asks someone to assume that responsibility. They also teach the rules of flag etiquette, donate patriotic books to libraries & schools, sponsor patriotic essay contests for schools and present flags to schools and community groups.
