GHRW Caring for American Projects

Our projects energize us and attract new members, retain current members, provide positive public relations by working in the community and showing that Republican Women “do care.”  We wear our red tee-shirt that says “Republicans Care for America" at Community events. Please email GHRWomen@gmail.com to volunteer for Support our troops, Flag Waving, Scholarship, Habitat for Humanity, Care Net, Dictionary Project

Support our Troops

GHRW Chair, Tineke Geringer, sends care packages to six soldiers or more each month, both to Iraq and Afghanistan. Members donate both needed items, and cash for more items and postage

Flag Waving

Members of the GHRW wave giant flags in support of our American Troops, on the corner of Olympia and Pt Fosdic in Gig Harbor.  We ask you to join us every Friday, rain or shine, from 5-6 PM

Scholarship

GHRW Chair, Betty Felker, left, has taken the lead in choosing a recipient for our annual scholarships that are given to four girls each year:  A worthy girl is chosen from Peninsula HS, GH HS, Henderson HS, and homeschooler. Pictured right is Debra Mann, PHS 2007

WFRW Day at the Capitol

Each year, GHRW members visit Olympia to tour the Capitol, the Governor’s Mansion sometimes, and have lunch with our legislators while hearing what they are up to, and how we can help them.  Recently, we have joined with other WA state clubs and have now become a large group, all dressed in red.

HISTORICAL SCRAPBOOKING

GHRW Chair, Elizabeth Kreiselmaier, not only made a beautiful, hard back printed history book for our club, she also showed us how to make our own personal ones.  This was our “Scrapbooking Tea” at her home, 2007

Safe Haven for ABANDONED BABIES PROJECT

2005 Chair, Georgina Carr, asked members to help her gather items for infants to present to fire stations and firemen who could possibly be surprised one day with a legal, abandoned baby.  Teens are encouraged to take unwanted babies to a safe place, and GHRW members wanted to be sure that fire stations are supplied with plenty of new baby supplies.

Rally

Whether it is for “One Man/One Women=Marriage” or a “Re-Vote for Rossi” rally, or a “TEA PARTY” rally to vote against high taxes and lost liberty, or protesting a protest against our troops, GHRW will be there to voice our Constitutional opinion
